Procedures

Book System:

 

Local Members- 

  • Dues MUST be current and you MUST NOT be working in out jurisdiction to sign whether original sign or re-sign. Initial signs can be over the phone, however, re-signs must be done in person OR through our re-sign email, re-sign@ibew776.com.

 

Travelers- 

  • All travelers must have their home local fax or email over a travel letter for them in order to be placed on book 2, please call us to verify that we’ve received your letter. Re-sign letters must be emailed to us from your home local.

 

  • Our re-sign period is the 10th-16th of every month. During that period a simple email (re-sign@ibew776.com) with your name and card number will get you re-signed, and your spot saved. If you don’t re-sign during that period, you will fall off the books and lose your spot.

 

 

Job Callout:

Inside-

  • You CANNOT BE WORKING in our jurisdiction to take a job call or be placed on the day sheet (out of work list). Job calls go on the recorder and website at 5pm every night. The following morning at 8am, whoever is interested in the call will need to call (843) 554-1080, extensions 1, 2 or, 3 to be placed on the day sheet. You cannot leave messages on our phone line to take a call you MUST call in between the stated hours and speak to Megan, Kristen or Maria.

 

  • Callout for any (inside) job is from 8am-9am. After 9am we go down our day sheet and whoever is highest on the books will get the call ONLY if they are paid up on their dues and are on the books, book 1 gets the calls first.

 

Outside-

  • When an outside contractor puts in a call we immediately go down the books and call everyone starting with the first person until the call is filled. 

 

Referral/Pick up:

 

 

  • When called to pick up your referral you must also bring all required documents with you in hand, physically, NOT on your phone as we cannot save them in our systems due to safety reasons. We do also have a same day referral pickup as well unless stated differently by the union hall or contractor. You must be able to come in for your referral before 4pm due to certain drug testing facility hours.

 

  • Once you have picked up your referral your name will then be removed from the books until you are terminated, and you bring us a copy of the termination slip and ask to be signed again (if you are still current on dues). Unless you are on a short call then you will keep your spot on the books.
